What is an ATS?
An ATS (applicant tracking system) is the software companies use to receive and sort applications. It pulls the text out of your resume, files it into sections and lets recruiters filter by keyword. If your resume is read badly, it can go unnoticed.
Is the resume check really free?
Yes, with no account and no credit card: your score out of 100, the six criteria in detail and your most serious issues, with examples taken from your resume.
What do I get for $9.99?
Robert rewrites your whole resume: bullets, summary and skills. You add your numbers in a minute, then download it as PDF or Word in 8 ATS-friendly templates, as many times as you like: it’s yours.
Is it a subscription?
No. $9.99 one time, nothing charged after that. Your account is created at checkout with your email, so you can find your resume again.
Can the AI make things up?
No. Robert only rewrites what your resume already says. When a number would make a line stronger, he asks you for it with an [X] instead of inventing one, and you review every line before downloading.
Is my resume stored?
The free check analyzes your text on our servers and doesn’t keep it unless you create an account. Your resume is never sold or shared with employers.
How is the score calculated?
With fixed rules, on six weighted criteria: ATS readability, structure, keywords, experience, readability and impact. The same resume always gets the same score, so you can measure your progress.
Does a good score guarantee an interview?
No. It’s CheckMyCV’s score, not a grade sent by an employer’s ATS. It helps you spot reading and writing problems. Hiring decisions also depend on the role, your experience and the recruiter’s criteria.
Which file formats work?
PDF, Word (.docx) and plain text, up to 20 MB. A resume saved as an image (a scan, or an image export from Canva) contains no text: applicant tracking systems can’t read it. Paste its content into the checker, and the rewrite makes it readable.
Do Canva resumes pass ATS?
Not always. Columns, text boxes and decorative fonts can scramble the reading order or make characters unreadable. The checker flags unreadable text and the sections it can’t find.
